The Math Lab at Oldfields
The Math Lab provides you with the opportunity to receive the assistance you need to succeed in mathematics. The Math Lab is staffed with friendly, knowledgeable student tutors who can provide assistance with questions from basic arithmetic through calculus and differential equations.
Instruction within the Math Lab is very informal. Students are welcome to come to the lab with questions whenever they need help in understanding math course work. Tutoring is available to students on a first-come first-serve basis. The Math Lab is open on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings during study hall.
When you come to the Math Lab, be sure to bring a copy of your assignment and any other materials that might be helpful, like your textbooks, notes, faculty instructions and previously graded assignments.
The objective of the Math Lab is to increase each student's understanding of her course material. This takes time and active participation on the student's part. Please do not expect the tutors to provide quick answers for the purpose of completing homework assignments. This does you a disservice. We help with mathematics while encouraging student independence and responsibility.
The Math Lab is open Monday through Thursday evenings during evening study hours.
