The 2019-2020 school year will be Caroline Blaum’s tenth year at Oldfields School and will mark her first year as the Assistant Head of School.


Since arriving on Oldfields’ campus in the fall of 2010, Caroline has gained a great deal of experience through a progression of roles as the Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach, Assistant to the Director of Learning Support, 8th grade English teacher, Associate Director of Admission, the Director of International Enrollment and most recently, three years as the Dean of Students. 


A product of boarding school, Caroline is a 2004 graduate of Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School in Kingston, PA. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Iowa where she was a First Team All-American Athlete and a four-time team captain of the Iowa Field Hockey team. In her senior year, Caroline led the Hawkeyes to their third straight Big Ten Tournament title and the 2008 NCAA Final Four in Louisville, Kentucky. Upon graduating from Iowa, Caroline spent three years as a member of the US National Field Hockey Team where she trained full time at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California.


Caroline believes in the power and potential of teenage girls. She is excited, prepared, and honored to play an integral role in supporting all Oldfields girls as they grow into their potential and become confident Oldfields graduates.
