This course is designed as an introductory college biology course and will prepare students to take the AP Biology exam. It will provide students with the conceptual framework, factual knowledge, and analytical skills necessary to deal with the rapidly changing science of biology.
The structure of this course assists students in developing an appreciation for the study of life and helps them identify and understand unifying principles within a diversified biological world. At the end of the course, students will have an awareness of the integration of other sciences in the study of biology, understand how the species to which we belong is similar to, and yet different from, other species, and be knowledgeable and responsible citizens in understanding biological issues that could potentially impact their lives.
Prerequisites: Biology, Chemistry, and permission of the department chair
